Spirited Away (A4)

This A4 acrylic artwork is a recreation of my absolute favourite scene in one of my favourite Studio Ghibli movies, Spirited Away. The train scene towards the end of Spirited Away is a beautifully serene and contemplative moment that I simply needed to relive and watch multiple times. As Chihiro and Haku travel together on the train, the scene unfolds with a dreamlike atmosphere and a water-covered landscape, with a soft pastel palette and reflections that created such a sense of calm for me. The subdued colours, gentle movements of the train, and the minimalistic sound design allowed for a moment of absolute stillness before the movie reached its end. I wanted to create something that could capture just a little piece of that stillness, that I, and you, can continue to escape in.
